How to Setup Mikrotik Simple Queue for Active User Hotspot ?

Setting bandwidth sharing for 10 to 20 hotspot users can be done using the simple queue feature on the Mikrotik Router. But if the hotspot user has more than 20 to 200 users? we have to think of a slightly different way.

Luckily, because simple queue on MikroTIK Router can be set dynamically too.

First, we must make one simple queue static rule as the parent for the simple queue dynamic that we will create later. You can follow the step by step process in Section 1.

Second, we continue by making modifications to the user's profile hotspot. The result of this modification will appear as a dynamic simple queue rule when a hotspot user with a modified user profile is connected to a hotspot network and logged in. Then it will be deleted automatically when the user hotspot is connected from the hotspot network

Section 1

Create Parent Queue

Open Winbox, In Main Menu

1. Click Queues

Under Simple Queues TAB

2. Choose a name for your Parent Queue
3. Fill in the name of the interface that goes to your LAN
4. Determine the maximum upload traffic that can be passed to all your client hotspots
5. Determine the maximum download traffic that can be passed to all your client hotspots
6. Click Advanced TAB

1. Make sure the Limit At upload is filled with Unlimited
2. Make sure the Limit At download is filled with Unlimited
3. Make sure the Parent is filled with none
4. Click Apply
5. Click Ok
